ColorPerfect vs Negative Lab Pro

This is the third instalment (probably the last) in my short series where I compare the results of the same colour negative scans, converted using different software.

The first post compared ColorPerfect to Grain2Pixel, using Kodak Portra 400 film and Kodak Gold 200.

The second post compared the same two software products, but using Kodak Ektar film.

This post compares ColorPerfect to Negative Lab Pro, using both Portra 400 and Ektar.

I haven’t done a comparison between Negative Lab Pro and Grain2Pixel, because an article on 35mm did that and sparked off my interest.

Just to remind readers, these comparisons are based on the files that come out of the respective software, with no further editing. Most of us would choose to carry out further editing to customise the images to our taste.

I don’t have a licensed version of Negative Lab Pro but downloaded the trial version for the purpose of writing this post. I believe that the trial version, although limited to 12 conversions, provides the same facilities and output as a licensed version.
